American Revolution: Extra Credit

For extra credit, you can tour a site associated with the American Revolution, and write an illustrated essay about how the site shapes historical memory/remembrance of the Revolution.  That is, you should think of the site as a conscious construction to explain a certain story about a particular place and time.  The meanings of the site may be multiple, ambiguous, or clear -- your essay is meant to illustrate the way the site creates (a) certain image(s) of the Revolution for a modern audience.  It may also be relevant to explore, perhaps by talking to an employee at the site, when the site was "created" as a place of memory/remembrance.  You may include your essay and images (personal photographs, post cards, relevant brochures, etc) in your journal, or hand it in separately.  It should be submitted by April 27th.  .
